17/08/26 @ 19:15 – Cityfibre engineers have confirmed that the recent outage at Kelham has now been resolved. All services are now back online.

17/08/26 @ 17:30 – Our latest update is that Cityfibre Engineers are still working on the problem at the exchange and are hopeful that service will be restored this evening but they do not currently have an exact timeframe.

17/08/26 @ 12:00 – Cityfibre Engineers have confirmed this to be a hardware fault in their exchange seemingly caused by a surge when power was restored after the Sheffield blackout this morning. Replacement equipment has been ordered but this is likely to take a few hours to be prepped, arrive and be replaced. We will monitor during the day however a further update from Cityfibre is not due to us until 4pm.

17/08/26 @ 11:00 – Engineers are currently enroute to the Sheffield location to attempt to further diagnose the core issue which is looking like a possible hardware failure. A further update is due at 12:30pm

17/08/26 @ 08:30 – An earlier power outage in Sheffield’s Kelham Central area has affected some CityFibre equipment causing an outage. We have raised this directly with CityFibre who are currently investigation. A further update will be provided at 10:30am 

07/07/26 @ 15:58 – Connectivity in Kelham Central has now been restored. The problem was discovered to be a break in the incoming fibre optic cable that feeds the site. Engineer was able to successfully repair the break.

07/07/26 @ 15:45 – Engineer is now onsite investigating the issue. A further update will be provided within the next circa 30 mins.

07/07/26 @ 15:15 – An outage has been detected in Kelham Island, Sheffield. Engineers are currently enroute to evaluate the problem and we are hoping to restore service shortly.
